Lush and Calming: Boysen Green Paint Colors for Your Home

It’s easy to love Green, especially these days when hectic and busy seem to be the norm. Look what’s written about it in our color psychology guide:

“As a combination of yellow and blue, green is known as the most restful color for the human eye. It is suited to every single type of room as it will neither arouse a high-energy nor a low-energy response.

“Green is said to be extremely helpful as a stress reliever if it is the primary hue of a room. It is known to be able to cool areas down, which ultimately encourages unwinding while promoting comfort.”

What’s not to like, right? If you’re not yet convinced that it’s a good pick for room walls, here are some green spaces that may just change your mind. We’ve included their closest Boysen color match as well for your reference.

Light and Airy

Go truly peaceful with a green the color of tea leaves and sage. It’s the perfect shade if you want to create a serene environment at home. Works great in bathrooms where you can unwind and take some time for yourself after a long day.

For condo dwellers, here’s a shade of green that can brighten up a space and make it feel a little bigger than it is. Try it together with an accent color like the yellow in the living room above. It also pairs well with light wood if you’re creating a Scandinavian look.

Let’s take a break from walls for a bit and try green on kitchen cabinets. When going for striking colors for cabinetry, the go-to trick is to have the other colors in the space a neutral color such as white. This keeps your kitchen looking clean and crisp.

You can achieve the color above with Boysen Quick Drying Enamel and Boysen Oil Tinting Colors. Try this mixture: for 1 gallon of white, mix 1/3 of 250 ml Thalo Green, 1/3 of 250 ml of Raw Sienna, and 1/3 of 250 ml of Lampblack. (You can’t get this one at Boysen Mix and Match stations!)

Bold and Bright

Time to get a little more daring. A feeling of being surrounded by lush tropical plants comes with this shade of green. It’s an eye-catching choice for a backsplash. And, if mixed as Virtuoso Silk Touch at a Boysen Mix and Match station, you get an easy-clean, antibacterial paint. Handy features for paint used in the kitchen!

For green on the walls of your workspace, here’s one with more oomph to keep you motivated and productive. Because you wouldn’t want to be dozing off while you’re on the clock, right? It makes for a great statement color too.

A cheery apple green makes for a playful wall paint color for a child’s bedroom or nursery. It’s youthful, optimistic, and bright. Like this hue? Have it mixed as Boysen Healthy Home at a Boysen Mix and Match station. It’s odor-less, lead-safe, and low-VOC which makes it ideal for homes with young children. Plus, it’s also formulated to be antibacterial.

Sophisticated and Chic

Doesn’t this room look so inviting? Have a bedroom that’s conducive to a good night’s sleep with deep olive green walls. Dark wood makes this space feel even cozier. The gray soft furnishing also helps keep the room serene. Nestle into soft sheets and dream away.

If you love the opulent look of brass finishes, consider emerald green walls. Jewel tones like emerald green further reinforce sophistication. And yes, just like in the vanity area above, soft pink is a perfect pair for this shade. It reminds one of delicate flower buds on a spring day.

Reset your living room with the palest of forest greens. Like a cold drink of water on a hot day, walk into a space like this and instantly feel refreshed. Setting up monochromatic rooms, like the living room above, isn’t as difficult as you think either. Find a useful guide here: 5 Tips for Creating a Monochromatic Room.

Note: Unless stated otherwise, the paint colors above are available at Boysen Mix and Match stations (find a list of locations here). Remember to check the actual swatch of a paint color in person before having a batch mixed as digital renditions can differ.
