The 20 Greatest Sports Entrance Songs That Will Pump You Up

How do you like to get pumped?

For most of us, there’s at least one Song that really motivates us and kicks our mood into high gear. And professional athletes are no different.

So it’s no wonder that sports teams and even individual players have dedicated theme songs to get the athletes AND the fans even more hyped for the showdown that’s about to occur.

Whether it’s a wrestler strutting into the ring, a heavy hitter stepping up to bat or a football team bursting onto the field, these signature tunes have the power to set a stadium on fire. In fact, the songs are so closely associated with specific teams and athletes that fans, players and even the opposing team instantly recognize them.

Below we’re going to break down some of the best Entrance songs across all types of sporting events beyond “Eye of the Tiger” and “We Will Rock You.” We’ll even throw in a few scoring anthems and a couple of classic closing songs.

From inspiring lyrics to head-bobbing beats, these songs are played to get you dialed in and screaming your lungs out for your team. Let’s dive in!

1. “Sirius” by Alan Parson’s Project

There’s a trend associated with Michael Jordan and great entrance music. And the Chicago Bulls really know how to make an entrance to the arena on game day.

Since 1992, The Chicago Bulls have played this slow-building entrance song for their teams. No better introduction exists in professional sports.

2. “Get Ready For This” by 2 Unlimited

The 1996 instant classic showcased a worthy entrance song by an unlikely artist.

Cartoons and All-Star NBA players unite to battle the Monstars in a clash of the titans.

From Michael Jordan to Bill Murray, this song helps amp the crowd and engage the audience as well as any. If you aren’t bobbing along to this one by the end, we suggest you go rewatch Space Jam.

3. Lose Yourself” by Eminem

It’s hard not to pay tribute to “The Captain” Derek Jeter.

This song has been used by many others across a number of sports leagues to get the crowd on its feet and in the zone.

Hard not to believe that Jeter was about to put one over the wall when you heard this tune start to play in Yankee Stadium.

4. “Back in Black” by AC/DC & “Enter Sandman” by Metallica

The University of Iowa Hawkeye football team comes out to not one but two top-tier entrance songs.

The Swarm locks arms and exits the tunnel as “Back In Black” by AC/DC blares in the background. Now that the crowd is on its feet and dialed in – Que “Enter Sandman” by Metallica.

The team stands at the edge of the tunnel as the Intro builds to its crescendo. They run onto the field with a vociferous 70,000 fans cheering them on. Goosebumps.

5. “Glass Shatters” by Disturbed

Whether you’re a WWF fan or not, there’s no debating the legend that is Stone Cold Steve Austin.

For anyone who watched, you knew what you were about to see when you heard the infamous “Glass Break” and music cue. Get ready for beer chugs and stunners, because Stone Cold Said so.

6. “Chelsea Dagger” by The Fratellis

While we know this isn’t an entrance song, it can psych out opponents before the game even begins. Making it an even more impactful team song.

“Chelsea Dagger” plays every time the Blackhawks score, making their opponents cringe on and off the ice.

Their opponents, the Vancouver Canucks, were even interviewed about it, and it’s no surprise; they all hate it.

This song will be stuck in your head once you hear it, and the energy that escapes from the fans when their team scores is unmatched.

7. “Seven Nation Army” by The White Stripes

Bayern Munich fans can’t control themselves when this song comes on in the stadium. Beer, popcorn and scarves get tossed around as fans jump up and down celebrating their team.

The celebratory nature of soccer fans mixed with the level of intensity inside the stadium when this song begins is bound to get the opposing team players and fans fired up.

8. “Na Na Hey Hey Kiss Him Goodbye” by Steam

This might be the worst song you can hear as a losing team. You’ll hear this one at basketball arenas, football stadiums, soccer stadiums and hockey rinks. Basically, if they have a loudspeaker and the home team is winning, there’s a chance you might hear this song. If you are a fan of the winning team, we guarantee you’ll be singing along too.

9. “Narco” by Blasterjaxx and Timmy Trumpet

This standout entrance song for Mets closing picture Edwin Diaz absolutely electrifies baseball stadiums and has recently gone viral on Twitter. Apparently, die-hard fans are even using the tune at their weddings.

So how good could it be? Well, even Met’s manager Buck Showalter claims he’s delayed visits to the restroom, so he doesn’t miss out.

For us, this baseball fav brings up images of a matador about to face down a raging bull. But don’t take our word for it, just check out the footage. This song is fuego, baby!

10. “Can’t Stop” by the Red Hot Chili Peppers

Heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko dominated in the ring, but this PHD-holding boxer showed uncanny intelligence when it came to picking a self-aggrandizing anthem. His legendary entrance walks to “Can’t Stop” were pure intimidation and always got the crowd pumped for action.

Yep, this one’s a knockout.

11. “Tsunami” by Dvbbs and DJ Borgeous

The power that this 2013 hit released on sports stadiums still hasn’t died down after almost a decade. Recently it’s been the entrance song of choice for Jordan Romano of the Toronto Blue Jays, but it’s also been used by the Army football team, the Philadelphia Phillies and the NHL, among many others.

And it’s no wonder considering that the song’s searing instrumental makes you feel like something truly exciting is about to happen. Just look at how it gets this crowd going!

12. “Wake Up” by Rage Against the Machine

It’s tough to go wrong when you choose an entrance song by Rage Against the Machine, which is probably why this hard-driving tune has long been the personal signature of choice for New York Yankees closer Aroldis Chapman. In a nutshell, it’s simply badass.

13. “Jump Around” by House of Pain

This hit from the early 90s may be overplayed, but it’s still a crowd pleaser that never fails to get even the youngest sports fans out of their seats. Long associated with Wisconsin college football, this almost annoyingly catchy tune was also the entrance song for former Giants closer Brian Wilson back in the day.

Come on; you know you want to jump around.

14. “Thunderstruck” by AC/DC

You can search the nation over, but you’d be hard-pressed to find a stadium that hasn’t blasted this classic AC/DC tune to get a rise out of the crowd. Whether you’re a football, baseball or hockey fan, it seems almost no one is immune to its power.

Just ask Mark Melancon of the Arizona Diamondbacks, who currently uses it as his personal entrance song. Good choice, buddy.

15. “All I Do Is Win”

The title alone pretty much qualifies this hip-hop jam as an automatic sports anthem. Featuring DJ Khaled, T-Pain, Ludacris, Snoop Dog and Rick Ross, it’s been used by a wide range of sports teams, including the Miami Hurricanes.

There was even a remix made for quarterback Tim Tebow when he played for the Denver Broncos called “All He Does Is Win,” which went viral. Check out the original and hilarious remix below.

16. “This Is Our House” by Bon Jovi

It never cracked the Top 40 when it came out in 2009, but that didn’t prevent “This Is Our House” from becoming the touchdown celebration song for the New England Patriots almost immediately upon its release.

And no wonder they jumped on it. With lines like “Are we gonna raise the roof? Oh yeah! Are We gonna raise the roof? Hell Yeah!” it was no brainer as far as sports anthems go.

And in case you’ve forgotten your sports history, the Pats played in the Super Bowl five times over the following decade. How much was talent, and how much was the song? We’ll never know.

17. “New York, New York” by Frank Sinatra

Okay, “New York, New York” is more of a closer than an entrance song, but this Yankee anthem simply can’t go without a mention. It literally resuscitated Frank Sinatra’s languishing career when he debuted his cover version back in the 1980s.

And Yankee owner George Steinbrenner (who knew a good draft pick when he saw one) didn’t hesitate to associate his team with the instant classic. To this day, it’s played in Yankee Stadium after the final out of each game.

Even if you’re not a Yankees fan, you have to admit that old blue eyes really stirs up a stadium with this iconic number.

18. “Welcome to the Jungle” by Guns N’ Roses

This high-velocity metal scorcher has been used in stadiums across the nation, but it’s most closely associated with the Cincinnati Bengals as their entrance and kickoff song. The team’s history with the anthem goes as far back as 1989 when fans carried “A Welcome to the Jungle Banner” to Riverfront Stadium.

And to prove how loyal fans are to this thematic tune, there was even a book written by Mary Schmitt Boyer called “Welcome to the Jungle. Everything you need to know about being a Bengals fan.”

Now that’s commitment.

19. “Tusk” by Fleetwood Mac

Back in 1979, Fleetwood Mac and USC’s Spirit of Troy marching band may have seemed like an odd combination when it came to making pop music. But the band’s surprising choice to record with the college musicians turned the percussion-heavy song into a Billboard number 8 hit.

And USC has been playing it at Trojans games ever since. With a captivating horns section and powerful rhythms, this one still stirs a crowd up and has us mesmerized as well. Check out the video and look at these kids go.

20. “Sweet Caroline”

When Neil Diamond wrote “Sweet Caroline” back in 1969, he probably never imagined it would one day become a sports stadium smash. And you have to admit; the happy go lucky tune doesn’t exactly scream anthem. Nevertheless, this charming ditty really seems to get a crowd going.

The Boston Red Sox first started using the song back in the late 90s because team employee Amy Tobey knew someone with a baby named Caroline. But it soon became a regular on their song roster and was eventually picked up by other sports teams the world over.

The NFL Caroline Panthers, the North Ireland national football team and the Ontario Hockey Leagues are just a few of the sports associations to leverage the song’s infectious cheerfulness.

All we can say is, go Neil!

This is just scratching the surface of the best sports entrance and intimidation songs in sports.

Now it’s time for you to build a Spotify playlist full of pregame inspiration, turn it up to volume 10 and get your adrenaline pumping!
