Skinstore Selects Limited Edition Box Review

Are you looking to try some new skincare products but don’t know which ones are worth the price (and will actually work on your skin)? The Skinstore offers limited edition boxes so you can sample a variety of products before deciding if you want to splurge on the full-sized version.

Each box varies throughout the year by season, holiday or other special occasions or skin concerns, but one thing remains the same, they are specifically curated with best-selling and top-rated products to help you unearth new favorites to add to your skincare routine.

What is Skinstore?

In case you are new to Skinstore, I will give you the scoop. You may have heard of Lookfantastic before; they are part of that beauty group. Essentially skinstore.com is a beauty product retailer, primarily focusing on premium beauty products.

Think products you would see at a spa, dermatologist or department store like Neiman Marcus. They were actually one of the first online retailers with dermatologist-created and recommended products offered across the globe. With over 8,000 products and 300 brands, they cover skincare basics and then some.

While they have great products from brands like SkinCeuticals, Obagi, Peter Thomas and more, they also offer limited edition boxes as a way for consumers to try out a bunch of different products before buying a full-sized option. I love this concept, and below you can read more about their latest box.

The Skinstore Selects Limited Edition Box is worth over $330, and you get to sample full-sized as well as sample-sized products. I went ahead and reviewed all of the products so you can decide if this limited edition box is right for you! These also make great gifts if you are looking for something to give a friend, sister, mother-in-law, etc.

So without further ado, here is everything inside the latest Skinstore Selects Limited Edition Box.

Dennis Gross Alpha Beta Extra Strength Daily Peel – Deluxe Sample

You’ve probably heard of Dr. Dennis Gross before, but if not, he is a dermatologist and dermatological surgeon with over 25 years of experience. After feedback from his NYC clients, he created his own skincare line. This peel pack is a two-step process. The first exfoliates and smooths, while the second does some anti-aging magic!

I would say these Alpha Beta Extra peels are the closest at-home treatment you can get to really feel that spa-like clean. And unlike a spa peel, you can use these daily. They help with acne, blemishes, fine lines, wrinkles and more.

Peter Thomas Roth Pumpkin Enzyme Mask Enzymatic Dermal Resurfacer – Deluxe Sample

If you have ever tried anything from Peter Thomas Roth, you know it’s no joke. I have personally never found a product from this brand that I didn’t like, and this pumpkin mask is no exception.

This pumpkin enzyme mask is perfect for fall because we could all use a little more pumpkin in our life. This mask is great for acne-prone skin, and you only have to use it once a week, so the sample size should last a while! It will make your skin brighter, smoother and feel squeaky clean with its exfoliating powers. Plus, you’ll be in the mood for Thanksgiving after every use; not sure if that is a good or bad thing.

It is important to share that if you have never done a mask with pumpkin enzymes before, it will tingle a bit, which is totally normal! It is just the enzymes doing their job and removing those dead skin cells.

If you love the pumpkin mask and want to try other skincare products, my holy grail from PTR is the Max Complexion Correction Pads.

Soon Skincare Vitamin C&E Serum – 10mL Deluxe Sample

Every time I have gotten a facial, without fail, the esthetician asks, “are you using a vitamin C serum in your skincare routine?” And then they’ll usually follow up by asking which brand I’m currently using. Let’s be honest; a good vitamin C serum is an investment.

The deluxe sample from Soon is a great way to test it out before forking over $100. Not only does this serum protect you from UV damage, but it reduces wrinkles, brightens skin and gives you a dewy glow. It is great for all skin types, and reviews say they saw noticeable results in reducing pigmentation and dark spots.

Use 4-6 drops in the morning on your face and neck for maximum benefits. You will likely fall in love with this Korean beauty product and splurge on the full-size bottle.

Decorte Liposome Moisture Serum – 15mL Deluxe Sample

This was the first time I tried something from Decorté, but the Decorté Liposome Moisture Serum is one of their top-selling products. Decorté is known as “one of Japan’s best-kept secrets,” and this serum has been a best seller for over 30 years!

The liposome line, in particular, is all about hydration. From face creams to eye creams and serums, each product promises extreme moisturizing capabilities. This is a perfect product to try as the days get colder and drier if you are looking for something that will keep your face hydrated all day long. It is great for sensitive skin and helps minimize redness without leaving a greasy or sticky residue.

You will likely run through your sample size in a flash and will have to decide if you want to splurge on the best-selling full-sized product.

Caudalie Vinosource-Hydra SOS Intense Hydration Moisturizer – Deluxe Sample

I have tried pretty much every product in the Caudalie Vinopure line, but this was my first experience with a Vinosource product. The Vinosource line is relatively new to the Caudalie and screams hydration. I am sensing a theme with this box!

This moisturizer is definitely thick but does not leave a heavy or greasy aftermath. It will be a great moisturizer to use during the winter, especially if you live in a drier climate. This sample is also great for sensitive or dry skin and won’t cause unnecessary breakouts. The smell is extremely refreshing, and I would recommend this as a nighttime moisturizer over daytime.

Erborian CC Dull Correct – 45mL Full Size

Another Korean beauty-focused line, I think I was most excited to try out the Erborian CC Dull Correct. I am always looking for something that is lightweight and easy to use with a hint of color correction, but not a full makeup look.

It is meant for yellow skin tones, and I am definitely on the fairer, pale and peachy side, so the color match was not right for me personally.

I love that it has SPF 25 and is a quick and easy step in the morning without any additional sunscreen. You need about a pea-sized drop, and that is enough to cover your entire face. It is also buildable, so start small, and this product will last for months.

Pestle & Mortar Hyaluronic Serum – 6mL Deluxe Sample

Like a good vitamin-C serum, a good hyaluronic serum is far from the cheapest product in your beauty arsenal. Unlike many other products in this box, the Pestle & Mortar Hyaluronic Serum is fragrance-free. I have definitely tried HLA serums that are sticky and leave a filmy residue in the past, but you won’t get that with this one.

It will give you that fresh glow look and help minimize dullness or redness if you suffer from acne breakouts. It also helps your makeup go on smooth and keeps your face hydrated all day.

Revive Moisture Renewal Cream -15mL Travel Size

The Revive Moisture Renewal Cream is probably the most high-end product in this Limited Edition Box. The travel size cream alone is $65. But the hundreds of customer reviews all give it high remarks and say it is worth every penny.

Your skin will feel renewed and rejuvenated after using this magical night cream. It has been known to give women in their 50’s youthful skin vibes and can take years off your complexion. It is also great if you are looking for something to help reduce or fade dark spots.

If you want to treat yourself and upgrade to a full-sized version, this is the product to splurge on.

PCA Skin Collagen Hydrator – Full Size

There are a ton of conflicting reviews on the PCA Skin Collagen Hydrator.

And while this is a full-sized product, I probably will not be using the whole jar. It is supposed to tighten and hydrate your skin. While it might offer those, I honestly don’t think I will use it enough to reap the benefits. I am not convinced there is a lot of collagen in this hydrator. Compared to other collagen products I have used, it just doesn’t have the same effect.

But out of the entire box, if there is only one product I didn’t like, I would still say it is a success!

Aesop Resurrection Rinse-Free Hand Mist – Deluxe Sample

If 2020 taught us anything, it’s that we all better have a handful of hand sanitizers on deck. The Aesop Resurrection Rinse-Free Hand Mist isn’t your average drug store or Bath and Body Works hand sanitizer.

First of all, it is a mist, not a gel, which is convenient when out and about. Second, it’s super soft on the skin, probably because of the aloe, and dries quickly, but doesn’t dry your skin out or leave it feeling sticky. It has a unique woodsy scent, despite its high alcohol content.

This will definitely become a new staple in my purse and diaper bag!

SiO Beauty Eye & Smile Lift 2-pack – Full Size

My friends and family will tell you; I never go on a vacation without a facemask and eye or lip patches. I don’t know what it is about being away from home, but under-eye and lip patches hit differently on the road.

I have never tried the SiO Beauty Eye & Smile Lift ones, but I love that you can wear them overnight. These silicone patches are great at tackling crow’s feet, under-eye bags and laugh lines.

Natura Castanha Hand Cream – Full Size

Another staple for the colder months is a good hand cream. The Natura Castanha Hand Cream won’t leave your hands oily or slimy. If you struggle with extremely dry hands or eczema, you will want to give this hand cream a try!

Some reviewers think the scent is a little strong—gives off some baby powder vibes, but I think this is a great combo with the hand sanitizer to keep in your purse.

Like any beauty product, everything is subjective to your personal preference, skin type, climate and age. However, I truly believe there is something for everyone in this Skinstore Selects Limited Edition Box. Plus, if you love a specific product, you can grab the full-size version on their online store, which is super convenient.

In the limited edition boxes, you will find everything from retinols to cleansers to lotions and more.

And if there is something you won’t use or don’t like, give it to a friend or donate it!
