‘Hawkeye’ Director Rhys Thomas Discusses Season 2’s Possibilities

Hawkeye Director/executive Producer Rhys Thomas is candid about the possibilities for a second season of the Disney Plus show.

The hawkeye season finale premiered earlier this week and saw several twists from the previous episode pay off. This included, but was not limited to, the return of Vincent D’Onofrio as Wilison Fisk, The Kingpin, and a significant emotional showdown between Yelena Belova and Hawkeye. While the season’s story seemed to be wrapped up nicely, it left plenty of room for some sequel.

When it comes to the various Marvel Disney Plus shows, their status as an ongoing series never seems quite concrete. For example, WandaVision was a one-time thing, and the story of Falcon and the winter soldier expected to continue in Captain America 4. On the other hand, Loki was renewed for a second season before the final episode even aired, so the fate of hawkeye could easily fall into both categories.

In a recent interview with Collider, hawkeye Director and executive producer Rhys Thomas spoke about the possibilities of the second season, noting that it all depended on how the show was received and would love the chance to do it all over again:

I cannot speak of future plans in the tradition of secrecy. Again the show coming out you never know how it will be received and it was amazing to see how warmly people have taken it and enjoyed it. And it was great to see Hailee’s character embraced and landed so firmly in the MCU. I’m genuinely looking forward to where that character goes. And yes, I loved walking the streets of the MCU and would love to do it again.

Here’s the synopsis for it hawkeye:

Former Avenger Clint Barton has a seemingly simple mission: to return to his family for Christmas. Possibly? Perhaps with the help of Kate Bishop, a 22-year-old archer who dreams of becoming a superhero. The two are forced to work together when a presence from Barton’s past threatens to derail much more than the party atmosphere.

hawkeye with Jeremy Renner, Hailee Steinfeld, Tony Dalton, Fra Free, Brian d’Arcy James, Aleks Paunovic, Piotr Adamczyk, Linda Cardellini, Simon Callow, Vera Farmiga, and Alaqua Cox. Florence Pugh also returned in her Black Widow role.

The first season of hawkeye is now available to stream on Disney Plus. Stay tuned for all the latest on the series and subscribe to Heroic Hollywood’s YouTube channel for more original video content.
