Do you know what Scrunchies are? Scrunchies are hair ties that were very fashionable in the 80’s and 90’s, then they  lost popularity for a while but they came back around 2010. In 1987, Rommy Revson created the first scrunchie with the idea of creating a gentler version of the hair ties that were used back then. Within the years to come, scrunchies have been created in a variety of colors, patterns, fabrics, sizes and designs that can even include a bow. Scrunchies are super easy to make and very cheap, so you can create several of different colors and patterns to combine with all of your outfits. / Sabes que son las scrunchies? Las Scrunchies Son coleteros para el pelo que estuvieron muy de moda en los años 80’s y 90’s, pero luego perdieron popularidad, sin embargo reaparecieron alrededor del 2010. En 1987, Rommy Revson creo la primer scrunchie con la idea de crear una versión más suave, a comparación de las ligas que se usaban en ese entonces. Con los años los scrunchies se han creado en variedad de colores, patrones, telas, tamaños e incluso diseños que incluyen un moño. Los scrunchies son súper fáciles de hacer y muy baratos, por lo que podrías crear varios de distintos colores y patrones para combinarlos con todos tus outfits.

In comparison to rubber bands, scrunchies are much softer accessories that hurt our hair less. Scrunchies are specially ideal for women who have medium to long hair style, since they hold much better. They can also be used as accessories in wrists or ankles in order to combine them to our outfits. / A comparación de una liga elástica, los scrunchies son accesorios mucho más suaves que lastiman menos el pelo. Los scrunchies son ideales para mujeres que tienen pelo de tipo medio a largo ya que sujetan mejor. También pueden ser utilizados como accesorios en nuestras muñecas o tobillos para combinarlos con nuestros outfits.

In this tutorial I am going to teach you how to sew a scrunchie.  / En este tutorial les voy a enseñar cómo coser una scrunchie.

What are the materials you are going to need? / ¿Cuáles son los materiales que vas a necesitar?

• Scissors / Tijeras
• Fabric of your choosing / Tela de tu elección
• Pins / Alfileres
• Elastic band / Resorte elástico
• Needle / Aguja
• Thread / Hilo
• Sewing machine (if you have one, it isn’t required, you can also sew by hand) / Máquina de coser (si cuentas con una, no es requerida también puedes coser a mano)

As you can see in the tutorial, scrunchies are really easy to make and it will only take a couple of minutes. There is no need to go searching for the ideal scrunchie color or the ideal texture when you can make it yourself and save a few bucks. Besides, we can never have enough of this, am I right? / Como puedes ver en el tutorial, los scrunchies son realmente fáciles de hacer y solo te tomara un par de minutos.
