No one would have thought that Palm Sunday, a day of joy and celebration, would become a symbol of the beginning of the passion of our Lord Jesus Christ! No one could have ever imagined that the people cheering and applauding the Saviour’s arrival in Jerusalem would be the same people who sought His death and crucifixion a few days later!

In 𝐌𝐚𝐭𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐰 𝟐𝟏:𝟗-𝟏𝟏, the Word of God vividly describes the King’s entry in Jerusalem, just a little while before His passion for the eradication of our unrighteousness began: “𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐜𝐫𝐨𝐰𝐝𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐰𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐚𝐡𝐞𝐚𝐝 𝐨𝐟 𝐡𝐢𝐦 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐨𝐬𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐟𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐨𝐰𝐞𝐝 𝐬𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐞𝐝, ‘𝐇𝐨𝐬𝐚𝐧𝐧𝐚 𝐭𝐨 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐒𝐨𝐧 𝐨𝐟 𝐃𝐚𝐯𝐢𝐝!’ ‘𝐁𝐥𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐝 𝐢𝐬 𝐡𝐞 𝐰𝐡𝐨 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐬 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐧𝐚𝐦𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐋𝐨𝐫𝐝!’ ‘𝐇𝐨𝐬𝐚𝐧𝐧𝐚 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐡𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐡𝐞𝐚𝐯𝐞𝐧!’ 𝐖𝐡𝐞𝐧 𝐉𝐞𝐬𝐮𝐬 𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐝 𝐉𝐞𝐫𝐮𝐬𝐚𝐥𝐞𝐦, 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐰𝐡𝐨𝐥𝐞 𝐜𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐰𝐚𝐬 𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐫𝐫𝐞𝐝 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐚𝐬𝐤𝐞𝐝, ‘𝐖𝐡𝐨 𝐢𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐬?’ 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐜𝐫𝐨𝐰𝐝𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐬𝐰𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐝, ‘𝐓𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐢𝐬 𝐉𝐞𝐬𝐮𝐬, 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐩𝐡𝐞𝐭 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐍𝐚𝐳𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐭𝐡 𝐢𝐧 𝐆𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐥𝐞𝐞.’”

If realise that Jesus Christ was the reason that we are now enjoying the joy of Salvation, we will soon understand that there was a divine master plan! A plan that was meant to redeem humanity from its sin! Hence, let today be the day that the race of your personal Salvation starts because Jesus declared the beginning of that race 2,023 years ago!
