Every week starting from today we will write guides about My Time at Portia. Firstly, we will focus on Social guides and characters’ description. This week we start with My Time At Portia Ginger social guide.
Ginger is one of the hardest characters to socialize with. And if you decide to marry her you will need to work extremely hard! The are several main difficulties on maxing Ginger social bar:
- She is not into gifts
- When you give her a gift that she likes you receive very few social points
- She moves very slow and there is a great chance to fail a date or another social event
- Her family hs high standards and won’t let you marry her until you deserve it
All these points will slow down the process of getting good relations with Ginger. But it doesn’t mean it is impossible. All you have to do is do everything right and don’t make any mistakes as it will slower the process even more.
My time at Portia Ginger social tips
We will make a separate post about it soon. But as it is very important to follow these rules with Ginger we will write them briefly here as well. Actually, almost all of them will be useful for any social progression with any other character.
- Make sure you give only the best gifts. You will find the list of the best and the worst gifts for Ginger.
- Bring gifts for Birthdays! Every character will appreciate your gifts on their Birthdays. Besides, your gifts give more social points on that day. So give the best gift as possible to get the maximum points.
- Fulfil special desires. After you see some specific desire you have a chance to get extra social points!
- Become best friends with her family and friends! Every character in My time at Portia has relations. When you get the next relationship level with one from the group all its other members give you extra social points with them. So for Ginger, these characters are Gust (brother), Gale (father), Russo (butler) and QQ (Gust’s pig).
- Do all social interaction every day. That will get you closer step by step. Don’t forget to do that with every member of the Ginger social group.
- Tell Ginger about your quests. After you complete the main quest visit Ginger to have a special dialogue with her. This kind of getting social points is unique only for Ginger.
- Always do her sidequests. Sometimes you will receive letters from Ginger with requests. Do them as soon as possible to get more points.
- Do commissions that give social points with a needed character. You can see who will like you more if you make the commission.
- Wait for Ginger next to her house before a social event or a date. As she moves very slow you should pick her up near the house and move on your mount with her.
- Make sure to fulfil all the necessary achievements before the engagement. These requirements can come out of the blue. So be prepared that before marrying Ginger you’ll need to ask for blessings from all of her group. Gust will ask you to have a level three house, Gale an A workshop and Russon will ask about Ginger’s favourite meals. So focus to become the proper match before the engagement.

Ginger’s mother passed away after giving birth to her. The older residents in Portia often comment on how much Ginger reminds them of her mother, both in looks and her temperment. When Ginger was twelve, she suddenly collapsed while walking around on a sunny day. Dr. Xu has tried many remedies, but none have worked so far. Since then Ginger has been gradually getting weaker and weaker. Still, she keeps her hopes up that she’ll be able to walk under the sun again one day.

Ginger is a daughter of Portia Major Gale. She has got a brother, Gust. Three of them live together and Russo their butler takes care of them. They have a pig pet QQ (but Gust is an owner).
Ginger’s Birthday is on the 1st Day of Winter.
She is single and you can achieve romantic relationships with her.
Ginger’s main particularity is that due to her disease she cannot move fast and stays at home all day until the Sun sets. All social activities with Ginger can be arranged between 20.00 – 22.00 and 22.00 – 24.00. At 01.00 your date automatically ends!

Sometimes her schedule can change due to weather. In rainy days Gust will accompany her to the river near the bridge at 10.00.

As you can see Ginger is not into fish and spicy food. There is only one exception. Ginger is neutral to Spicy and Sour Potato because it is both Sour Food and Spicy Food.
