BSBA AFFILIATE MEETING Tuesday, May 21st, 6:30 pm in the BUSD Board Room

Re:  Notice of Action for BSBA Booster Groups to Ratify the Dissolution of Burbank Schools Boosters Association, Inc. (BSBA)

Dear Bsba Affiliates:

As you should have heard by now, the BSBA board of directors has voted ‘Yes’ to begin the process to dissolve the BSBA organization by June 30, 2020.

This is due to many factors, specifically – long-term sustainability of the umbrella 501(c)(3) public charity and site-based Booster club affiliates, the personal liability of volunteers, and the changing landscape of fundraising in BUSD for public schools.

BSBA will hold a meeting on Tuesday, May 21 2019 at 6:30 pm in the BUSD Board Room to allow each BSBA Affiliate a vote to ratify the dissolution of the BSBA umbrella organization, per our attorney’s instructions.

Your affiliate booster should meet prior to this meeting to do three things:

1. Vote as a club to disband/withdraw booster operations from the BSBA umbrella organization.
2. Vote as a club for or against the ratification of dissolution of the BSBA umbrella organization.
3. Prepare allocation of booster funds to BUSD for benefit of your supported school’s site-based programs before June 28, 2019.

Please be sure to send ONE delegate to the May 21st meeting for the vote regarding the ratification of BSBA’s dissolution. Each BSBA Booster gets one single vote. Other members of the booster group may attend the meeting but may not vote.

Attached HERE, you will find a copy of the BSBA resolution to dissolve, minutes noting BSBA Board vote and an outline detailing the actions each group may take to operate moving forward. This information will also be mailed via US Postal Service to each BSBA Affiliate at their school site.
