Series Overview

Kandi’s Wedding is a reality TV series that ran on the Bravo TV network in 2014. The series is a spin-off from The Real Housewives of Atlanta. The series follows Kandi Burruss and Todd Tucker as they plan a themed wedding ceremony ripped off from the grand wedding scene in Eddie Murphy’s Coming to America. The two decide to do the work themselves, without the help of a wedding planner and they give themselves just five weeks to make it happen.

Family drama adds to the stress, as Kandi’s mom, the outspoken and obnoxious Mama Joyce, is still opposed to the wedding. Mama Joyce refers to Todd as an “opportunist”. In addition, Todd isn’t sure whether he should sign a prenup and refuses to do so until the day before the wedding.

List of Kandi’s Wedding Episodes

Season 1

Episode 1 – Say Yes to the Distress – Kandi and Todd set a date for the wedding. Although they aren’t using a wedding planner, they still pull together a team to assist with the massive effort. The team isn’t quite sure they can pull it off in such a short period of time. Mama Joyce is still expressing her doubts about the wedding, as her sisters try to help.

Episode 2 – Blessings and Dressings – Mama Joyce obnoxiously calls Todd’s deceased father a “pimp”, which is ample reason for Todd to call the whole thing off. Kandi meets with her father and asks him to officiate the wedding. Todd talks to Kandi’s father for advice and also confides in his friend, Apollo Nida. Todd ends up confronting Mama Joyce face-to-face.

Episode 3 – Mother Tucker – Todd’s mom, known as Mother Tucker, arrives in Atlanta. Immediately, she isn’t happy about the way Mama Joyce has been acting toward her son. Kandi tries on wedding dresses. Two members of the bridal party get into an argument. The two mamma’s meet at a dinner party.

Episode 4 – Dis-Engaged – Kandi gives Todd the pre-nuptial agreement. Guests start to arrive in Atlanta. Kandi has a bachelorette party. Todd’s bachelor party almost gets out of control. At the wedding rehearsal, Todd and Kandi have a heated discussion about the prenup.

Episode 5 – Meet the Tuckers – Todd still refuses to sign the prenup and his friends start wondering whether the wedding is a good idea. He finally gives in and signs them (which we all knew he would do). Later on the show, Mama Joyce finds another way to be evil as she ignores Todd’s daughter, which causes a huge argument.
