It’s not surprising that one of the significant issues discussed throughout the movie is King of Rock’n’Roll’s closely-guarded relationships with his former wife. Viewers can gain a glimpse into the development of the legendary couple’s relationship and their relationship, with Australian actress Olivia DeJonge portraying Priscilla starting her first date in 1959 with Elvis at a concert in Germany in 1959 until the breakup that ended their relationship in the 70s early. The film is already receiving a seal approbation from Priscilla Presley herself. The 1959 year: Elvis and Priscilla first meet

Elvis Presley first met Priscilla Beaulieu on the 13th of September 1959, at a gathering at his home at Bad Nauheim, Germany. At that time, Presley Rock’n’Roll musician was working for the US Army overseas, having joined the army of Tennessee in the prior year.

Priscilla was also stationed in Germany because her stepfather Air Force Officer Paul Beaulieu, was, just as Elvis was transferred into the European country to work. At 24, Elvis was ten years older than the 14-year-old Priscilla when he began a ‘courtship’ lasting six weeks with the teenager before returning to the US. The separation was rigid for both parties, causing them to continue their “romance by writing letters. The couple didn’t get to meet again until 1962 when with consent from her parents, Elvis offered Priscilla to go on a Christmas vacation with him at his lavish Graceland residence in Memphis for two weeks.

According to reports, her parents had severe concerns about her relationship with Elvis. The majority of them focused on the considerable age difference between the two. Years 1963. Elvis and Priscilla move into Tennessee

When he was in 1963, Elvis demanded that 17-year-old Priscilla relocate to Memphis to be in a genuine relationship. He convinced her parents to accept the idea, promising them that she would get a top education and that he would always financially support her. Despite initial fears, they backed off – and Priscilla always returned to Germany in the States.

But, they would not let their child leave without a condition. They reportedly demanded Priscilla go to an all-girls Catholic high school to finish her studies and move in with Elvis’ parents, Vernon and Dee, until she was ready to wed Elvis. The couple resisted these guidelines, but Priscilla began increasing hours at Graceland until she finally moved to a new residence.

Years 1966. Elvis proposes to Priscilla

Elvis offered to Priscilla during Christmas in 1966. At the time, she was just 22, and he was. In the proposal in the private bedroom of the couple at Graceland, Elvis was seen to drop to one knee and hand her an engagement ring of three and a half carats diamond. Priscilla reflected on the experience several years later while interviewing Elvis’s personal secretary, who was also the author of My Life With Elvis, saying that the entire experience was “very relaxing.’

In February of 1968, Elvis and Priscilla were blessed with their first child together. Lisa Marie Presley was born at 5.01 pm in Baptist Memorial Hospital-Memphis, in Memphis, Tennessee, exactly nine months after her parents’ wedding.

The month of February in 1972. Priscilla informs Elvis she’s not going to be with him.

Priscilla was kicked out of the house in 1972 after telling Elvis that she would divorce him. In the meantime, she had already started an extramarital affair with a karate instructor Mike Stone and was very unhappy in her relationship. Priscilla later confessed that Elvis had been cheating several times throughout their relationship. He has been given numerous opportunities due to his glamorous career.

“He wasn’t faithful, not that he had someone special, but when you’re in the entertainment business there is always that and I tried to turn my back to that, but I just didn’t want to share him,” she explained.

July 1972: Priscilla, as well as Elvis, finalize the divorce
