Week 16 in review: Xiaomi 13 Ultra, Pad 6, Pad 6 Pro, Band 8 official

Welcome to your week’s recap. Xiaomi held a big event where it announced two tablets – the Xiaomi Pad 6 and Pad 6 Pro, the Xiaomi Band 8, a Sound Move speaker, an 86-inch Mini LED smart EV, but most importantly the Xiaomi 13 Ultra.

The Xiaomi 13 Ultra brings four 50MP cameras – a primary with a 1-inch sensor and f/1.9-4.0 variable aperture, a 75mm zoom camera, a 120mm zoom camera and an ultra wide shooter. The Ultra features a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset, a 5,000mAh battery with 90W wired charging and 50W wireless charging. Xiaomi will launch the 13 Ultra in the Chinese market in April , then in markets around the world in the following months.

The iPhone 15 Pro will feature a titanium frame, curved glass, and a new Action button on the side. The Pro models would also have a new dark red colorway. As for the vanilla iPhone 15 and Plus, they would get a new mix of cyan and green and frosted rear glass panels, like the current Pro models.

The Samsung Galaxy A24 is official, although Samsung never really made an announcement. The phone has been posted on the Samsung Vietnam website.

It features a 6.5-inch 90Hz Super AMOLED display, a MediaTek Helio G99 chipset with 6GB or 8GB of RAM, and a 5,000mAh battery with 25W charging. has a 50MP main camera, along with a 5MP ultrawide and 2MP macro. We still do not know the price of the Galaxy A24.

The Google Pixel Fold is expected to be announced on May 10. It will cost “over $1,700”, matching the previously leaked price of $1,799. To sweeten that up, Google is reportedly offering a free Pixel Watch to Pixel Fold buyers, in addition to a trade-in option. According to “internal documents and images”, the Pixel Fold has “the most durable hinge on a foldable”. It will also be marketed as water resistant, although it’s unclear which standard it will conform to. The outer screen will be 5.8″, while the inner screen will open up to 7.6″.

Speaking of Google, the Pixel 7a will also be announced on May 10. It will cost $499 and be available immediately.
