Director Ayan Mukerji announced the release dates for his upcoming fantasy films Brahmastra: Part 2 and Brahmastra: Part 3 on Tuesday.

Taking to Instagram, Ayan shared a lengthy note which he captioned “The Next Phase”.

The note reads: “Hi The time has come – for updates on the Brahmāstra trilogy, the Astraverse and my life! After soaking up all the love and feedback on part one… I focused on creating the vision for parts two and three – which I now know will be bigger and more ambitious than part one! to perfect the script of Brahmāstra Two and Three! And…I decided that we were going to do the two films…Together!Also allowing them to release closer to each other!I have a schedule in place to achieve this, which I am sharing with you all today!

Brahmāstra: Part Two – Dev will hit theaters in December 2026, while Part Three will hit theaters exactly one year after Part Two, in December 2027.

Ayan also revealed that he was set to direct another “movie special” outside of the Brahmāstra franchise.

Wake Up director Sid will helm the second installment of Hrithik Roshan’s action-thriller War under the Yash Raj Productions banner.

He added, “I also have some other news to share…The Universe recently gave me a very special opportunity — a very special movie — to get in and direct! What the movie is … More on that when the time is right An opportunity that challenges and excites me terribly… one where I will learn, be inspired and where I will grow! !! I open myself to all the positive energies in this universe to do my best and contribute to what matters most to me: Indian cinema! Love and Light, Ayan.”

Further details on the star cast of the fantasy-adventure franchise are still awaited.

Directed by Ayan and produced by Karan Johar, Brahmāstra: Part One – Shiva was released last year. The film starred Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Amitabh Bachchan and Mouni Roy in the lead roles and was declared a success.

Ayan is known for his movies like Wake Up Sid and Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani.
