Finnish game maker Rovio, best known for its Angry Birds franchise, reported an increase in fourth-quarter operating profit on Friday, boosted by growth in its top three games.

“All of our top three games Angry Birds 2, Angry Birds Dream Blast and Angry Birds Friends have gone up year on year,” said the Helsinki-based mobile game maker.

Rovio said it expects strong revenue growth for the year, but its adjusted operating profit will decline year-over-year due to investments in development and marketing. new games.

Rovio is looking to grow by diversifying its portfolio, having acquired Turkish Ruby Games in August and teaming up to create new mobile games for Moomins, originally popular cartoon characters in a series of books and a strip. drawn.

“We continue our M&A efforts, aimed at creating new growth avenues in casual games, expanding our audience network and creating value through synergies between our games portfolio and our studios,” Rovio chief executive Alex Pelletier-Normand said in a statement.

Rovio reported underlying operating profit of 13.1 million euros (about Rs 110 crore) for the October-December quarter, up about 75% from a year earlier.

Rovio’s board has proposed a dividend of EUR 0.12 (about Rs 10) per share.
