Gran Turismo 7 Release Date, Price, Reviews, Car List, Gameplay, Download Size, And More

Gran Turismo 7 is the eighth title of Polyphony Digital’s acclaimed racing simulator. It succeeds Gran Turismo Sport which was released in 2017 and will feature over 400 cars which include regular production cars in addition to rare and exotic cars. Exclusive to PlayStation consoles, as the series has been since its inception in 1997, Gran Turismo 7 will allow players to burn virtual gasoline in 34 different locations that alternate between 97 layouts. You’ll navigate it all through a car-themed station that serves as the main menu of Gran Turismo 7. Part of said station is The Cafe, where players will learn the history of the cars they unlock and their iconic manufacturers.

Last week, Amazon US – among other retailers – mistakenly shipped physical copies of Gran Turismo 7 to players who pre-ordered the game. It’s also not the first time a Gran Turismo game has reached the players before its launch. According to the report, Gran Turismo 6 reached one week before its launch to players in the Middle East in 2013.

Since the original Gran Turismo title was released in 1997, the series has sold over 80 million copies worldwide.

With that, here’s everything you need to know about the latest Gran Turismo title, out later this week on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5.

Gran Turismo 7 release date

Polyphony Digital’s latest racing simulator will be released on March 4. According to a listing on the PlayStation Store, Gran Turismo 7 will be unlocked for players in India at 12pm IST (midnight). But according to the listing on the PlayStation Store in the United States, all players from all regions will have access to the game at the same time.

Gran Turismo 7 editions

There are two editions of Gran Turismo 7 that players can purchase, although one of them has two variants.

The standard edition is limited to PS4 only. However, there is another “standard edition” compatible with PS4 and PS5. This odd concoction exists due to Sony’s decision to charge extra for the PS5 version of the game. The two standard editions of Gran Turismo 7 only include the base game.

The Deluxe Edition of Gran Turismo 7 celebrates the 25th anniversary of the Gran Turismo franchise. As part of the Deluxe Edition, players will have access to the base game in addition to 1.5 million CR (in-game credit), a special Toyota GR Yaris, 30 PlayStation Network (PSN) avatars and the official soundtrack.

Additionally, Gran Turismo 7 Deluxe Edition also offers PS4 and PS5 compatibility, as does the Standard Edition for PS5 and PS4.

Price of Gran Turismo 7 in India

On PlayStation Store, the standard edition of Gran Turismo 7, exclusive to PS4, is listed for Rs. 3,999. The standard edition which will be available for PS4 and PS5 is priced at Rs. 4,999.

While Sony presented the Rs. 4,999 price tag with its PS5 launch exclusives, it is maintaining a two-tiered strategy for games made for both PlayStation generations. Last month’s Horizon Forbidden West was also part of this program, but fan backlash led Sony to reverse its decision – but on just one title. Starting with Gran Turismo 7, the PS5 versions will remain at Rs. 4,999.

Gran Turismo 7 download size

Gran Turismo 7 has a download size of 96.8 GB on PS5. The size of the game on PS4 is not known.

List of Gran Turismo 7 cars

The new Gran Turismo 7 is going to have a long list of cars, as a report from GTPlanet suggests the game could include over 420 cars. It is said to include brands like Abarth, BMW, Bugatti, Chevrolet, Ferrari, Honda, Lamborghini, Lexus, McLaren, Mercedes-Benz among others. Gran Turismo 7 will include ordinary family cars to rare and exotic cars.

Gran Turismo 7 Gameplay

Polyphony Digital showed off a bunch of gameplay for Gran Turismo 7 via PlayStation’s State of Play event earlier in February. At first glance, the game appears to be the best Gran Turismo title released on Sony’s consoles. During the event, Kazunori Yamauchi – the creator of the Gran Turismo franchise – mentioned that Gran Turismo 7 will receive over 400 cars from over 60 manufacturers. More vehicles are expected to be added to the game via future updates.

The new car-themed compound in Gran Turismo 7 serves as the main menu for the game. It also serves as the world map and provides access to the garage for players to store and browse their vehicles. Players can also customize their vehicles through the Tuning Shop, GT Auto, and Livery Editor menus.

One of the main things Yamauchi touched on during the State of Play event was The Cafe. Players are given a “menu book” with pre-determined vehicles and after acquiring a car, the game will display an audio-visual history about the vehicle.

Gran Turismo 7 also has three car dealerships for three major car manufacturing areas – America, Asia-Pacific and Europe – as well as a used car dealership.

Players will be able to drive in 34 different locations with 97 layouts. Classic tracks from the series like Trial Mountain, Deep Forest and High Speed Ring make their return with Gran Turismo 7.

The new Gran Turismo game also gets the license center, missions, multiplayer modes with couch co-op, and a photography mode via Scapes and Race photo. The former allows players to click images in approximately 2,500 locations, while the latter allows players to take photos on race tracks.

Another new feature that Gran Turismo 7 will get will be Music Rally events. Here, players will need to complete the event by running the track to the end of the song, and players are rewarded based on how far they run before the song ends.

Gran Turismo 7 uses ray tracing on the PS5. It also supports 3D audio on supported devices. The game will also make full use of the PS5’s DualSense controller for better immersion.

Reviews on Gran Turismo 7
