Microsoft brings AI-powered Bing to mobile and Skype

Two weeks after launching its AI-powered Bing chatbot, Microsoft is now bringing the feature to mobile and Skype.

First, the feature is added to the Bing iOS and Android app. Users invited to the preview could press the Bing button in the app to start a conversation with the chatbot. You can either tap your query or just tap the microphone button to speak it out loud.

Similar functionality can also be accessed through the homepage of the Microsoft Edge app, which is also available on iOS and Android.

Skype users on all platforms will also be able to access Bing’s new found intelligence. You can either chat with Bing one-on-one or add it to your group chats so anyone can tag it and initiate a query. You can choose to have the answer as bullet points, text or a simplified answer in over 100 languages.

For those not in the know, AI-powered Bing is Microsoft’s answer to smart AI chatbots like the popular ChatGPT. It can provide detailed and intelligent answers to your questions, which can be as simple as the distance from the moon to something more complicated like creating a complete itinerary for a trip to Japan. The feature is only available through invites at this time and was previously only accessible through the Microsoft Edge desktop browser.
