Today at noon, both variants of Sony’s elusive next-gen console – the Rs. 49,990 Blu-ray-equipped PS5 and its Rs. 39,990 discless PS5 Digital Edition counterparts – will be up for pre-order in India. Alongside, just like in April, some retailers will also be offering a Rs. 54,490 bundle of the Blu-ray PS5 and Gran Turismo 7 which is a Rs. 499 savings if you were to buy them separately. Gran Turismo 7 was released in March – following strong fan reactions due to the microtransactions and grind-based economy – and with Sony India still bundling it, it looks like Sony has more copies of Gran Turismo 7 which remained unsold. Oddly enough, the Sony Center ShopAtSC website didn’t give us an expected ship date for the May 13 PS5 restock. As of this writing, its FAQ page — which continued to contain a COVID-19 boilerplate long after delivery restrictions were removed — has not been updated this time around. Earlier estimates had the ship date for new PS5 pre-orders within a week to 10 days from May 13. Either way, all official PS5 online retailers – including Amazon, Croma, Flipkart, GameLoot, Games The Shop, Reliance Digital Sales and Vijay must be Sony Center compliant. Although sometimes we have seen some online retailers ship their PS5 pre-orders before the announced delivery date as well.

Sony India Sony Center retail stores have their own website where you can buy PlayStation 5. ShopAtSC offers free home delivery from the nearest Sony Center, but you can also choose to pick up from the nearest store once the first orders have been shipped.

You will need an account to purchase the PS5 from ShopAtSC. Create one in advance to speed up checkout. If you’ve already purchased a PS5 or PS5 Digital Edition, you won’t be able to purchase another from the same account, ShopAtSC says. The site has a notification button in case you want to set it up.

Vijay Sales is offering 7.5% instant rebate up to Rs. 7,500 or Rs. 3,000 on EMI transactions with HSBC and Standard Chartered credit cards respectively, and 10% instant rebate up to Rs. 2 000 on OneCard credit cards.
