Week 2 in review: Galaxy S23 Series Arrives February 1

Since September, every weekend recap we’ve done has featured at least a few Galaxy S23 stories. It’s getting to the point where you’d think we’ve seen every possible Galaxy S23 Series leak, but week after week we’re getting new pieces of the puzzle.

The biggest of the many S23 stories this week was the confirmation that Samsung has officially confirmed that it will be hosting the series announcement on February 1. The Unpacked event will begin at 6 p.m. UTC and will be streamed live. And Samsung opened the reservation for the S23 series at the same time.

Earlier in the week, we received official promotional videos for the Galaxy S23 series, but these have since been taken down. A few days later, we received official press renders, showing the final builds of the Galaxy S23, Galaxy S23+, and Galaxy S23 Ultra.

To top off the S23-related content, we got to see dummies of all three phones for a size comparison.

Meanwhile, we released our Samsung OneUI 5.0 review and you really liked it.

Beyond the Samsung camp, we’ve seen the Redmi Note 12, Redmi Note 12 Pro and Redmi Note 12 Pro+ go on sale in India. The Redmi Note 12 has a base price of INR 17,999 ($220/€205), while the Note 12 Pro and Note 12 Pro+ start at INR 24,999 ($305/€285) and INR 29,999 (€370). $/€340), respectively.

Windows has ended support for Windows 7 and Windows 8.1, so if you’re using either, you should consider upgrading.

These are the key stories for week number 2, but you can find the full list below. See you in a week!
