Tottenham and Everton weigh up Jesse Lingard signing
Tottenham and Everton are both weighing up a deal for free agent Jesse Lingard this summer as both look to add further firepower to their squads.
Lingard is a free agent as of July 1st, having now left Old Trafford following a decade at the club, and his experience and ability may well serve both clubs well in the coming season.
Spurs, who completed their fourth summer signing with the arrival of Richarlison from Everton in a deal worth £60m, are considering making an approach for the 29-year-old as they look to add homegrown options to their side.
‘Lingard has admirers at Spurs and is low-risk as a free transfer’, they report, with the Englishman seen as an option to play in an advanced midfield role. The Lilywhites were previously interested in Christian Eriksen, but the Dane seems set on a move to Manchester United or a return to Brentford rather than to north London.

The offer of Champions League football is also something that Lingard is thought to be interested in, though his gametime may be limited by other options in midfield, with Spurs having already signed Yves Bissouma this summer.
West Ham and Everton also interested
However, Tottenham face competition from West Ham and Everton should they want to add Lingard to their side this summer, with the pair both keen on bolstering their ranks with the Englishman.
The Toffees are operating on a limited budget despite Richarlison’s departure, and Lingard would certainly represent value for money. Where he would fit into a side that only recruited Dele Alli six months ago, however, is unclear.

Meanwhile, West Ham have been longstanding suitors for Lingard since his successful loan spell in east London 18 months ago. Should they get the chance, they will not pass up on the Englishman.
