An insight into the potential extent of the injury suffered by Leeds United star Stuart Dallas has been provided on Saturday evening.

The Whites were of course back in action a short time ago, welcoming champions Manchester City to Elland Road for a Premier League clash.

The visiting Citizens, in the end, unsurprisingly emerged with all three points, cruising to a 4-0 triumph courtesy of strikes from all of Rodri, Nathan Ake, Gabriel Jesus and Fernandinho.

Th eventual outcome on Saturday evening, though, proved just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to Leeds’ woes.

In addition, after Liam Cooper was forced to pull out of the club’s starting XI owing to a last-minute muscular problem, Stuart Dallas was stretchered from the field of play on the stroke of the interval amid concerns over a potentially serious knee injury.

Speaking to the media on the back of his side’s defeat to City, Jesse Marsch was therefore inevitably asked for an update on his key defender’s wellbeing.

And, in news which will no doubt set alarm bells ringing across the Peacocks’ fanbase, the club’s boss confirmed that the situation, at present, doesn’t look ‘good’:

Marsch on Dallas: “We don’t think it’s good with his knee. With where we are in the season, we’ll miss him very much because he’s the heart and soul of the group and one of the guys who’s a leader.”

He’s had a scan. Marsch: “I don’t want to say too much yet but it’s not great.”

ACL concerns

So, what kind of fitness problem could Dallas have picked up?

Well, an insight into precisely that has been provided by injury analyst Dr. Rajpal Brar, held in altogether high regard online.

Based on the challenge itself, and ensuing manner in which the Northern Irishman’s knee reacted, the early signs point towards three areas of concern – Dallas’ ACL, MCL, and meniscus.
