FPL detective work reaches new level as fans track Leeds star Raphinha’s flight back before Southampton
Some of the more committed members of the Fantasy Premier League community today took their investigatory efforts to another level, in a bid to monitor the movements of Leeds United star Raphinha.
Raph shining
The name of wide-man Raphinha has of course taken centre stage in the headlines once again over the last 24 hours.
This comes on the back of the Leeds man’s latest display on the international stage.
Brazil were back in action in the early hours of Friday, welcoming Uruguay to Manaus for the country’s latest 2022 World Cup qualifier.
The aforementioned Raphinha, for his part, was handed his first-ever start for the Selecao, on the back of a pair of starring performances off the bench over the course of the last week.
And, when all was said and done at the Arena da Amazônia, to say that the 24-year-old went on to repay the faith of boss Tite would be something of an understatement.
Another dazzling individual display saw Raphinha ultimately steal the show, en route to a brace in a 4-1 victory for Brazil:

London return
Whilst those of a Selecao persuasion, in turn, have spent the bones of the last 24 hours celebrating the talents of their new star man, back in England, the Leeds United faithful have been left to sweat over Raphinha’s availability.
With Brazil’s showdown with Uruguay having been played out considerably later than the latest round of European World Cup qualifiers, the wide-man’s status for Leeds’ upcoming return to action has been thrown up in the air.
Marcelo Bielsa’s men are set to make the trip to St. Mary’s tomorrow afternoon, for a Premier League meeting with Southampton.
Raphinha, owing to his heavy involvement with Brazil just last night, has already been labelled by many as altogether unlikely to feature on the south coast.
But, as outlined above, this did not stop some of the more enthusiastic owners of the Brazilian in Fantasy Premier League from doing their utmost to keep an eye on his movements on Friday.
As showcased below, FFScout Scoutcast regular Karam Tayser tracked what is understood to have been Raphinha’s private jet back from his home country, all the way to London.
Check out the thread, which suggests that ‘Raph’ was joined by Chelsea and Tottenham stars Thiago Silva and Emerson Royal, here:
