Alfred Hitchcock

Screenwriter and producer along with being an English film Director, Alfred Hitchcock is definitely one of the most famous and influential figures in the history of cinema. He made a name for himself by making works worthy of high praise if not considered art. But jokes on others, even if not art his work stood the test of time and is acclaimed even today, making his understanding of human psyche unparalleled even today. Known as the revolutionary of American film-making and the master of suspense, his new ways brought a new course to film-making as he was one of the very few directors who experimented with his craft. His works were very unlike he ones of his time as he dealt with exploration of the female psyche, repressed sexuality, voyeurism and overlapping identities. His works might be in debate but his influence is undeniable.

Martin Scorsese

Unlike previous mentioned directors he has also been an actor along with being a producer, screenwriter and director. He is considered as by far one of the most influential directors of the New Hollywood Era because of his works like ‘Mean Streets’, ’Silence’, ‘The Wolf of Wall Street’, and ‘Hugo’. His consistency of coming up with something relevant never came in the way of him taking up challenges and gong beyond the cinematic boundaries confining others. He despite of being in the industry for 40 years is the only person who hasn’t lost his magic and still makes work which collect more than 100 million dollars at the box-office and get nominated for Oscars. What makes him remarkably extraordinary his passion for reinventing himself with work like no one else’s.
