We first heard from Neil Levin in December of last year, upon the release of his album Cosmic Blues. That record introduced The Static Dive readers to a multifaceted singer, songwriter, musician, and surfer from Southern California. The versatile and prolific artist has dropped over two dozen solo releases since his 2020 debut.

When not in the studio recording his solo tunes, Neil Levin can usually be found on the stages of Orange County. Best known in his local scene as the frontman of popular jam band counterconformity, he also performs regularly as one half of the western duo Father Son Levin, with his father Alan. On April 19 he released his first new music of 2024.

“The Limit” is the brand new single from Neil Levin, available worldwide via all major streaming services. The track opens on a mellow lofi indie-rock groove.  An electric guitar plays the song’s signature melodic hook as the singer steps to the mic. With a love of fast cars as metaphor, Neil sings of a young woman suffering the pitfalls of a life of excess.
