Lorenzo Gabanizza & Jeff Christie’s Melancholy New Ballad – Rainy Day Man

Lorenzo Gabanizza first appeared on these pages back in 2021 upon the release of his single “You’re Not There“, a collaboration with legendary UK singer Jeff Christie. That track introduced The Static Dive readers to a multi-talented singer, songwriter, and guitarist who has built a thirty-year musical legacy. Lorenzo has been writing, recording, and performing throughout Europe since the early 1990s.

Jeff Christie has led the popular English rock band that bears his name since the early 1960s. The group is known for chart-topping hits like 1970’s “Yellow River”, which hit number one in 26 countries that year. He met Lorenzo Gabanizza in 2020 and the two have worked together ever since.

“Rainy Day Man” is the brand new single from Lorenzo Gabanizza and Jeff Christie, released worldwide via all major streaming services on March 8, 2024. An acoustic trio of mandolin, violin, and guitar introduces the track. The singer steps to the mic as a full ensemble enters the mix and the song slides into a melancholy adult contemporary ballad inspired by events from the Lorenzo’s childhood.
