The Blue Balladeer is the latest collaborative project from the folks at Amsterdam Olympic Records. The label and its music are the brainchild of composer, producer, and entrepreneur Michiel Mulder. Regular readers of The Static Dive will remember their previous releases from Fool of Glass and Rock This Off.

Mulder recruits an international roster of talented musicians for each of Amsterdam Olympic Records’ releases. The debut release from The Blue Balladeer is not exception. This time around the Dutch songman is joined by vocalist Michelle Hartskeerl, Spanish concert pianist Jordi Castella, Nicola from Italy on the drums, Ukrainian cellist Polina Faustova, and frequent collaborator Cis Kroezen on guitar.

“Where do you Find Love?” is the debut single from The Blue Balladeer, released worldwide via all major streaming services on February 9, 2024. Faustova opens the track with a melancholy melody as the band eases into a mellow pop lament. On the mic, Hartskeerl offers a simple and sweet answer to the song’s central question. In a world gone mad, we find love in the hand of a friend. And we find peace in love.
