Different Moon is the professional name of singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist producer, Jim Piper. He launched the project in 2015 with the EP Desert Rain. The five-song set was a tribute to his lifelong friend and songwriting partner Mike Smith, who tragically passed away too soon at the age of 37.

The record was well received, encouraging Jim Piper to continue writing new music. Since debuting as Different Moon, the prolific producer has released an impressive volume of work including three EPs and nearly twenty singles. His eclectic electronic prog-rock vibe has connected with fans around the world thanks to popular tracks like “Unstoppable” and last year’s “Second Chance”.

“Underdog” is the brand new single from Different Moon, released worldwide via all major streaming services on February 2, 2024. A Clash-style punk guitar opens the track over a percussive groove as the singer steps to the mic. He offers a fist-pumping anthem about believing in oneself as the chorus meets an epic wall of alt-rock guitar.
