Scotchie Boss is the professional name of emerging independent hip-hop artist, Scott Carlino. Originally from Queens, New York, the rapper now calls Montego Bay Jamaica home. Although he is new on the scene, his music is inspired by a long road of hard-learned life lessons.
Carlino grew up in a working-class family in Astoria Park. His early adult years were difficult, marred by mental illness, substance abuse, and even homelessness. Scotchie Boss says music saved him, helping to pull him off the streets and keep him clean.
“The Block is Hot” is the brand new single from Scotchie Boss, released worldwide via all major streaming services on December 20, 2023. Dark ambient synths and psychedelic effects open the track. Soon the beat drops on a hard, reggaeton-infused 808 groove. The rapper steps to the mic a delivers a fierce drill freestyle as sirens ring in the distance.
