Rafael Montecruz is a veteran independent songwriter, composer, and multi-instrumentalist producer. He launched his current solo project in 2017 with the four-song Spanish-language EP Pendiente. Now he makes his return to the streaming world with his English-language debut.
After years of writing songs in Spanish, Rafael Montecruz set out to reach a wider audience. So he decided to re-introduce his best tunes with English versions. He translated, rearranged, and in some cases completely rewrote his personal favorites and is now giving them new life.
“Tell Me Why” is the brand new single from Rafael Montecruz, released worldwide via all major streaming services on December 5, 2023. A solo piano opens the cinematic ballad as Abraham Armell steps to the mic. He delivers a heartbreaking torch song, lamenting a lost love in a soft and soulful countertenor as a full ensemble of bass, drums, strings, and acoustic guitar enters the mix.
