Brian Field is an American composer who has written music for stages across the globe. Regular readers of The Static Dive will remember his previous projects Vocal Works, Kaleidoscope, and Three Passions for our Tortured Planet. Each explored different avenues of his unique blend of jazz, classical, and theater.

Although much of Brian Field’s music is instrumental, he is also an award-winning lyricist. His work often touches on hot-button political and social issues like war and climate change. His latest looks at the more personal effects of the world’s problems.

“Three Generations” is the brand new single from Brian Field, released worldwide via all major streaming services on December 8, 2023. Strings introduce the song as a male vocalist steps to the mic. Accompanied by a piano-led orchestra, he sings a heartfelt ode to a fallen family member at the holidays. The song tells the story of three generations of Marines who get together for Christmas. However, the youngest member of the trio is missing, killed in battle during the war in Iraq.
