Vinchenzo’s Smooth New Diary 23

Vinchenzo is a fast-rising international singing star who has connected with millions around the world on hits like “Headphone” and “Daily”. In 2023, the visionary 23 year-old recording artist is unveiling an exciting new project inspired by his mystical connection to the number 23. The current year and his age are just the beginning of his inexplicable bond with Michael Jordan’s favorite digits.

He was born at 10:23am on September 23, after his mother spent 23 minutes in labor. The numbers 2 and 3 also connect Vinchenzo and his producer R!O via some interesting metaphysical mathematics. All of these coincidences led to the singer’s brand new three song set, Diary 23. Released as a series of three consecutive singles, Diary 23 is a soulful and introspective collection, recorded in Istanbul, Turkey during the pandemic.

A smooth jazz guitar sets the mood on “Jacuzzi” (Sep 15). Lush vocal harmonies paint the edges of the mix as the beat drops on a minimal downtempo R&B groove. On the mic, Vinchenzo delivers a soulful and sexy slow jam featuring some musically sophisticated vocal phrasing. GPS (Sep 22) adds world beat vibes and syncopated Caribbean percussion to that sultry groove. Vinchenzo will close out the R&B trilogy on September 29 with the new single “Running Back”.

Check out “Jacuzzi” below. You can also hear that song and “GPS (Guide You)” on the Deep Dive : Hip-hop and R&B playlist, or listen on your favorite streaming service. 8 Questions with Vinchenzo

Where are you from?

I was born in the Netherlands and grew up in a small town called Tiel.

How long have you been making music?

I’ve been making music professionally since 2017, but I have been singing for as long as I can remember.

Who are the musicians involved in your project?

I’ve been working with the L.O.V.E. Music LLC team and my producer R!O since 2017 but we officially started working on this project in 2020 during the pandemic.R!O produced the project and he brought in some really dope writers to help.

K.O. is my favorite collaborator, he’s written for people like Beyonce, Teyana Taylor and more. Rook Monroe has written for Rihanna, Maroon 5 and more. SickPen has written for Usher, Chris Brown and numerous other artists. Also had the pleasure of working with Prince Charles who previously collaborated with Rihanna and Beyonce. I’ve been very fortunate with this experience so far.

Who are your biggest musical influences?

I grew up listening to a lot of R&B soul and pop artists like Michael Jackson, John Legend, Usher, Boyz II Men and a lot of old school artists as well. Currently I draw a lot of inspiration from artists like Chris Brown, Bruno Mars, Ed Sheeran, Drake & also The Weeknd.

What is your greatest non-musical influence?

My greatest musical influences I would say are my family and my friends. Life experiences & traveling around the world I tend to soak up inspiration.

What inspired you to create this project?

What inspired me create this project was me wanting to do something different. In the past, I have made a lot of pop music but I’ve always felt more of an R&B artist myself. All of the songs are about women and different situations with certain women and of course, you pretty much hear that I love the women, hah!.

What are your plans for the future (musically)?

Plans for the future, I’m hoping to make a lot of great thought provoking music in the upcoming years, build with my fans, and not let them down by making them wait too long to put out what they want to hear. I’m also hoping to do a lot more shows as well around the world and to grow as an artist.

Is there anything else you would like to say?

The last thing I want to say is the wait is over, real R&B has stepped back into the building. Thank you.
