Halløwmane – Phønk Man Of Mystery

Halløwmane is a mysterious new character from points unknown, who made his solo professional recording debut in 2023 with the single “Haddonfield Drift”. That track introduced an eccentric and eclectic electronic music composer and producer who keeps his visual presence shrouded in noir science fiction imagery. The otherwise anonymous musician creates downtempo psychedelic vibes set to chilled phonk and drift grooves.

Since his March debut, the House of Static recording artist has released three genre-bending releases. From mystical phonk of “LørdØfTheDead” (featuring The Static Dive), to the wildly creative and melodically mesmerizing Blink 182 (“Dammit”) and Adele (“Someone Like You”) mash-up “SømoeØne Like, Damm”, Halløwmane has already established himself as a creative force in the burgeoning new genre.

Check out Halløwmane’s music below. You can also hear both “SømoeØne Like, Damm” and “LørdØfTheDead” on the Deep Indie Dance & Electronic playlist.” We had the chance to chat with the artist. What is your greatest non-musical influence?

The balance of light and dark in the human soul.

What inspired you to create this project?

I wanted to blend two songs with the same subject matter, one from the female perspective and one from the male. And I wanted them to become a single cohesive song unto itself.

I chose “Someone Like You” by Adele and “Dammit” by Blink-182. Both are breakup songs. And although one is in a major key and the other in a minor, the melodies and chord progressions were surprisingly compatible and found a lot of common ground. We all know the pain of loving someone who will never love us back, this mash-up shows just how universal that experience is.

What are your plans for the future (musically)?

I will continue to make the music I want to hear. If I were not to remain true to my authentic self, then there would be no point in making music at all.

Is there anything else you would like to say?

If you can’t embrace your darkness, you’ll never find your light. It’s like Leonard Cohen said, “There is a crack in everything, that’s how the light gets in.”
