Toni Debuts New ‘Memories’

Although she only recently began releasing her work, Toni has been making Music her entire life.  She grew up in Honolulu, Hawaii to Panamanian parents. The singer strongly identifies with her roots and infuses her original compositions with strong Latina vibes. After dropping a string of successful singles through 2022, Rosania recently dropped her debut LP.

Memories is the brand new album from Toni, released worldwide via all major streaming services on the singer’s birthday, March 16, 2023. The 12-track collection is an excellent showcase for the diverse talents and tastes of a young singer on the rise. From the synth-pop torch-song title track to smooth r&b vibes of “Start Over”, the record is a stylistic mix of sounds from the 80s to today.

Upbeat electro-pop grooves and infectious hooks drive tracks like “Say My Name”, “Call You Mine”, and “That Boy”. On the latter, Toni has a bit of fun flipping genders on Katy Perry’s iconic “I Kissed a Girl”. The singer mellows the mood on sultry slow jams like “Brain”, “Sinful”.

Rosania continues that sexy theme on the extra-spicy low-key dance jam “Yes Daddy”.  The heartbreaker “Save Me” is a real highpoint. Toni pleads with her lover while a melancholy piano rides a driving downtempo organic house beat.

Check out the Sinful video below. Or listen to Memories in its entirety on your favorite streaming service. You can also hear “Me Gusta” on the Deep Indie Dance playlist, “Save Me” on the Deep Indie Dive”, and “Yes Daddy” on the Deep Indie Beat. We had the chance to chat with Toni about the new album. 8 Questions with Toni

Where are you from?

Honolulu, Hawaii. Although I am a first generation American, I also consider myself Latina, as all my family is all from the country of Panama.

How long have you been making music?

I’ve been recording music for about 2 years, but have been writing music for as long as I can remember.

Who are the musicians involved in your project?

BRKR. from Canada and LJGS from the United Kingdom. ImTrying is from Texas, USA. I selected these artists and invited them to be a part of this album because of their unique talented voices and because they are independent artists, just like myself.

Who are your biggest musical influences?

Kim Petras, Ariana Grande, and Angèle.

What is your greatest non-musical influence?

Nature. Being outside is always the best thing for me to catch up with my creativity. Whether I’m on a walk, or just getting fresh air, the outdoors has always allowed me to reset and have creative outbursts.

What inspired you to create this project?

I had been discovering a lot of new music and had recently discovered french pop. It opened my eyes as to how there are so many different styles of talent in this world. I had always known I would eventually be a musician in my lifetime and this time of music discovery felt right to start putting my own music out into the world.

What are your plans for the future (musically)?

I would like to record more music and build up my discography by releasing more albums and singles. I also would like to begin practicing building a good stage presence and perfect the art of doing live performances in the near future.

Is there anything else you would like to say?

Although my career in music has just recently begun, it is only the beginning. Music is a intense passion for me, always has been and always will be. This is only the beginning and I’m so excited to see what the future holds for me and my music.
