PsychCloned is the professional name of composer and producer Gabriel Pureco. Born in Mexico City and raised in North Carolina, the self taught musician first became interested in music through his love of gaming. He learned quickly and was soon composing complex, Hollywood-ready  instrumental music. Since his debut last year he has already established an impressive catalog with three full length albums and another on the way. 

Regular readers of The Static Dive will remember our feature of PsychCloned’s last album “Sakura” in March of this year. “Reach for the Stars” is the latest single from the prolific composer, released worldwide to all major streaming services on July 1, 2021. The song is an advance single from his forthcoming album “Showtime,” due to be released on July 9. Once again, Gabriel has produced a sophisticated and emotionally moving piece of music. 

Opening on a series of melodic Classical piano arpeggios, the piece soon introduces a Jazz-infused electric bass, beautiful nylon string guitar and a percussive, hybrid electronic/acoustic abstract drum beat. Lush, cinematic strings and ambient synths expand the horizon as the emotionally uplifting piece flows through its phases. In the bridge the track breaks down into a jazzy Funk interlude featuring some wild, syncopated piano/bass/guitar interplay. It is an inspiring and motivational piece.

I hope the song’s infectious melody and rhythm get people in a dancing mood and maybe even re-instill confidence within them if they feel they are having a rough week/month. Reach for the Stars is all about what could be yours so long as you don’t lose sight of your vision and what it is that motivates you day in and day out!
