Becky Raisman is a singer, songwriter, keyboard player, beat-boxer and comedian based in Charleston, South Carolina. Originally from the Chicago area, Becky moved to the East Coast three years ago. In both cities she has studied voice and piano with world class instructors. She practiced, competed in contests and performed live for years and recently made her professional debut as a recording artist.
After releasing a string of singles to ReverbNation and SoundCloud, Becky Raisman is taking the step to wider distribution outlets like Spotify and Apple Music for her latest single, “Summertime Sugar.” The tune is an upbeat, sugary-sweet Pop love song just in time for a bit of summer romance. A jazzed up piano leads a guitar, organ, bass and drum ensemble through a funky Pop groove. The sound is the same sort of Pop/Rock/Funk mix made famous by bands like Maroon 5 and Train.
The singer matches the song’s uplifting musical vibes with an equally positive lyric. This is music for walks on the beach hand-in-hand with your sweetheart. Not coincidentally, that is an activity directly referenced in the first verse of the song. With lines like “You make my heart flutter” and “I’m so happy you’re my girl” she revels in the joy of being in love. It’s a fun and very sweet tune.
