Therealgoosebumps is the professional name of Miami-based DJ and producer Alexandre Verna. Born in Haiti, when he was just 6 years-old Verna and his family came to the States seeking a better life. Growing up, the young artist had big dreams of making it in the music business. He got his start DJing in High School. 

After graduation he worked his way up through his adopted city’s legendary club scene. It wasn’t long before he moved from private parties to some of the hottest clubs in the trendy South Beach district. From there he set his sights on the international scene. After performing at his hometown’s own world famous “Rolling Loud Festival,” therealgoosebumps started gigging at fests around the world, from the Bahamas to Vietnam. 

Along the way, he worked with some of the biggest names in Hip-hop, Dancehall and EDM. Artists like A Boogie Wit da Hoodie, Chief Keef, Reggie Mills and many more platinum-selling singers and rappers have sought out therealgoosebumps style. His tracks have earned millions of spins worldwide. In 2020 the producer launched a solo career. He is working with a broad mix of singers and styles, and the hits keep coming. 

“Loving You” is Alexandre’s new collaboration with Nigerian vocalist Taylee, available on all major streaming services. On the track, the singer soulfully serenades the object of his affection as therealgoosebumps drops a cool organic Dancehall beat. A laid back bass and guitar groove rides on the acoustic drum rhythm. Meanwhile, organ chords and saxophone riffs paint the periphery. It’s a nice, mellow dance track with a smooth natural sound that will get you ready for the summertime. Fans are already reacting in a big way. The track recently crossed 750K streams on SoundCloud.

On another recent single “Rejection Lullaby,” Verna shows a completely different side. This time collaborating with female vocalist Jasmyn May, the producer lays down a hypnotic, downtempo Lo-Fi track. As the singer sings a sleepy meditative nursery rhyme style melody, a chill beat is paired with a mellow guitar chord progression.
