California gospel singer Tramaine Hawkins’ career spans over more than five decades. It began in the late 1960s, with Tramaine being a member of the legendary gospel group The Edwin Hawkins Singers. The group was founded by her brother Edwin.

Tramaine is renowned for her strong vocal stylings, with much of her work fusing traditional gospel with both contemporary and modern styles.

It was with the release of her 1975 first solo album Tramaine, which featured the hit single ‘Changed,’ that Hawkins gained notoriety.
