What is Naat & Difference Between Hamd & Naat?

 What is Naat?

Naat is poetry in praise of the Islamic prophet, Hazrat Muhammad (صلى الله عليه وسلم). The Naat Recitation was popular in South Asia (Bangladesh, Pakistan, and India) and Now it becomes popular all around the World. Muslims from Different Continent, Countries are entering in this field and Naats Sharif Recitation is becoming popular day by day. In Arab countries, lyrics and praises said for Muhammad are called Madih Nabawi.

It includes the Sunnah, virtues, miracles and every aspect of our Holy Prophet (صلى الله عليه وسلم) which can be praised. Its field is vast as no one can completely describe the Master of Universe completely. Thousands of people have tried till now to write Naat in several Languages but no one can say he/she is perfect. Its because Master of this Universe (صلى الله عليه وسلم) virtues are beyond our thought, no one can completely describe them in one’s short life if starts writing from Childhood to death.

Naat Recitation is also called “Nasheed” in Some regions. Naat Sharif Recitation has become popular and now it is commonly Available in more than 30 Languages of the World which includes, Urdu, Hindi, Pashto, Sylheti, Bengali, Punjabi, English, Malaysian, Arabic, and More.

Difference between “Hamd” and “Naat”

Some peoples are confused between understanding the Meaning of “Hamd” and “Naat”. Here is the difference, Exclusive “Praise to Allah” and Allah alone is called “Hamd”, and Praise to the last Prophet of Allah, Hazrat Muhammad (صلى الله عليه وسلم) is know as Naat.

History of Naat Sharif/Nasheed

Thousands of people have written in the Praise of Holy Prophet (صلى الله عليه وسلم) but there are some have been quite famous in Specific Language and also in Specific Era. Some name I would Like to mention are:
