Regarding the COPPA Dilemma, what should I do if my videos are not specifically child-directed, but family-friendly/made for general audiences? [MISC FD]

The whole issue with YouTube's policies regarding Coppa is very confusing and stressful. It's going to mean the end of a bunch of YouTube channels that were once thriving. However, I have learned that COPPA actually has an exception when it comes to general audiences (where my videos fall under since I do not make my content with a specific age demographic in mind). But the problem is that YouTube is apparently not accommodating this exception. They are only concerned if channel content is kid-directed or adult-directed. Nothing in between.I really don't want to be terminated have to pay a ridiculous fine per offense just because YouTube and the FTC believe that my content could merely attract children, even if it's meant for everyone. So what's the best course of action for me to take to protect my channel? via /r/youtube
