Mellotron VST

The music computer industry has experienced great growth in recent years with the development of environments Virtual sound  creation oriented to the average and semi-professional consumer. The attractive graphic interfaces remind the design of video games
in the same way that recent hardware control surfaces remember to the joystick From real instruments to virtual ones and virtual ones
to the real ones, or rather, to the virtual-really-controlled ones.

Mellotron and Mellotron VST

The Mellotron displays a range of electro-mechanicals and polyphonic prototypes, and first produced in England in the sixties, it was an evolution of a similar instrument, "the Chamberlin". The mellotron prevailed due to its easier massive production capacity. The instrument is operated by a single second of magnetically driven cables. It is able to differentiate parts of the creation body before placing layers of different sounds. The original models were intended to be used at home, and contained a variety of sounds that were originated from automatic computing.

Talking specifically about a Mellotron Vst, the Sampletron is basically the same as the Mtron, only with the difference that the samples have more twist possibilities, because this reason I would go for the Sampletron and not with the M-tron which in my humble opinion was displaced by it.

On the other hand when the new M-tron Pro came out, shows more samples and more twist possibilities that the classic MTRON, then it could compete side by side with the Sampletron. Although some people use it, there are not many reviews about it. However, you should be have in mind that the IK Multimedia audio has a much better position than GForce with its monsters sampletank.

It includes a 3.5GB sound library, with more than 200 tape banks (sample sets), among which are the 19 banks of the original M-Tron, remastered at the Abbey Road studios in London. There are also 45 new banks and more than 700 patches.

This virtual Mellotron, which can be used autonomously or as an RTAS / AU / VST plugin, offers up to 35 notes, each sampled individually. It can work in double layer and with keyboard split, and is programmable by MIDI CC thanks to its MIDI Learn function - it also offers dynamic keyboard control, including filter aftertouch. There are 29 parameters per layer, including synthesizer parameters: vintage-style delay and ensemble effects, step-by-step and high-pass resonant filter section, tape inversion and medium-speed tape effect.

Arturia V Collection 7

Arturia has launched version 7 of its V Collection, the new edition of the company's virtual instrument package. It comes loaded with three new additions, including the MEllotron V, CZ V and Synthi V. Others, such as the B-3 V and Analog Lab, have been upgrading, to complete a total of 24 virtual instruments.

The emulations of classic digital and analog synthesizers was where Arturia began, long before the company expanded to controllers and hardware synths like the MiniBrute and the MicroFreak. And of course, all the classics like the Minimoog V, the ARP 2600 V, Prophet V, and SEM V are still in the V 7 collection. Then, they began adding emulations of iconic digital synths like Synclavier and DX7. And it is this segment of the V Collection that seems to receive a promising new addition: The CZ V, emulation of the Casio CZ-101 and the CA-1000. These low-budget 80s synths never left the shadow of the DX7 at the time, but it's not a secret among synth fans, that their phase distortion synthesis is actually a pass to play, so now These synths are much sought after. So the least fair thing is that Arturia has chosen to model them in addition to the DX7.
