Ponmagal vanthal Movie is about to release in the late April of this year is postponed due to nationwide lockdown in India. Several movies for postponed due to the lockdown. Jyothika played the female lead role in ponmagal vanthal along with actor Parthiban. Movie was produced by jyothika’s husband actor Surya. Movie was planned to release in this month of April but postponed due to the Corona virus outbreak.

Amazon Prime purchased the OTT platform rights of the movie. Shockingly that crew announced that the movie will be released in the leading OTT platform before the release of the movie in theatres. Not only fans and audience Theatre Owners also surprised to hear this bad news. Tamil Nadu theatre owners Association General Secretary Pannir Selvam said that this kind of actions will make the future of thousands of theatres in Tamilnadu and the families of thousands of dependent it will be questioned.

Theatre owners also requested Surya to not to release ponmagal vandaal in OTT platform before the release of movie in Theatres. He also mentioned that if movie was released in OTT films of Surya Jyothika and films of his followers will not be screened in any theatres in Tamilnadu anymore.

Now Surya turns to deal with Amazon Prime and theatres owners. He should definitely support theatre owners and to make an alternate deal with Amazon Prime. Prime may request Surya forest upcoming movie rights. Surya Soorarai Pottru is yet to release in upcoming months
