This period drama film is directed by Abhishek Varman and produced by Karan Johar, Sajid Nadiadwala under Fox Star Studios. The film is Karan’s father Yash Johar’s dream project. According to producer Karan Johar Kalank is the story of turbulent relationships and eternal love.
Set in 1945 India, the epic tale directed by Abhishek Varman. It features Varun Dhawan as Zafar, Alia Bhatt as Roop, Sanjay Dutt as Balraj Chaudhry. Together with Madhuri Dixit as Bahaar Begum, Sonakshi Sinha as Satya Chaudhry and Aditya Roy Kapur as Dev Chaudhry. Although the teaser doesn’t give much of the plot away, it had very few dialogues.
One of which is by Dhawan. “Kuch rishte karz ki tarah hote hain, unhe nibhaana nahi, chukana padta hai”. The other was Bhatt’s, “Humse zyada barbad aur koi nahi iss duniya mein, kissi aur ki barbaadi meri jeet lagti hai”.
Kalank teaser: Composition Is Like A Dream.
Kalank teaser is gorgeous like a Raja Ravi Verma painting, like a Sanjay Leela Bhansali composition, like a dream. Although the teasers give nothing away.
The only thing we clearly see is Alia Bhatt loves Varun but marries Aditya as she sheds a quiet tear. There is a city ready to burn and concerned looks.
Kalank comes out to be the fourth collaboration of Abhishek Varman with Alia and Varun’s after working together in blockbusters like Student of the Year, Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania and Badrinath Ki Dulhania. Further, it will mark the return of Sanjay and Madhuri together for the first time in 21 years. The film was previously set to release on 19 April 2019, but the release date has been changed to 17 April 2019.
