A suspect has been arrested in connection with the death of Pitch Black Afro’s wife Trisha on New Year’s Eve and will make his appearance today at the Johannesburg Magistate’s Court. SAPS spokesperson Lungelo Dlamini confirmed to Sowetan Live that “There was an inquest opened but we changed that to murder. The suspect is being detained at the Yeoville police station and will be appearing court (today)” Pitch Black Afro, whose real name is Thulani Ngcobo, and his wife of 23 years were invited to a friend’s flat on 30^th December 2018 and drank most of the night. Thereafter they were said to have paid for bed and breakfast for the night. Trisha was initially thought to have died of natural causes but the bruises on her body made many think otherwise, and autopsy confirmed she actually died as s result of injuries she sustained. Pitch Black Afro, who DJ Waxxy had featured on “Yini” alongside Brickz, Maraza and Buffalo Souljah, has stoutly denied involvement in his wife’s death, stating to the Daily Sun: “I have been with my wife for 23 years and have never laid a hand on her. I am grieving. I just wish to be left to mourn in peace.” The investigation into Trisha’s murder continues. We are following the case and will apprise you of any new leads.
