ijaw protesters shut down flow station in Delta

ijaw protesters: Furious indigenes of Diebiri and Batan communities have closed down a Flow Station in OML 42, operated by the Nigeria Petroleum Development Company, NPDC, a backup of the Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation, (NNPC) over recent appointments made by the Delta State government.

The two communities are in Warri South West L.G.A.

According to TheNation, Ijaw Protesters Shut down the stream station on Friday over Governor Ifeanyi Okowa’s appointment into the board of the Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission, DESOPADEC.

The protesters purportedly accused Deputy Governor, Kingsley Otuaro of highjacking DESOPADEC’s appointment space for his associates in Gbaramatu Kingdom in disregard to production quantum.

It was discovered that the general population of Diebiri Kingdom claims it’s their turn to produce the next member representing Ijaw nation in the state interventionist oil commission.
