Karamelien: Album of the Week

Karamelien has a fantastic Album, Living with the Moon, that will keep you entertained on these cold, winter nights. Since the music grabbed our attention today while we were very distracted, the album deserves to be the Album of the Week.

The UK based indie ambient folk/rock group includes singer-songwriter Léanie Kaleido and guitarist Mark Foster. If you are fans of Dido or Tori Amos, then you might also love Karamelien.

My favorite songs on this album are “Sewing at Sea,” “Wait for Me,” and “Do You Really Wanna Go?” Honorable mention goes to “Ascension Heights.” Every last song is fantastic which made it was hard to choose only three favorites.

For “Sewing at Sea,” I was actually wondering if Léanie Kaleido was reading my journal or poetry. It’s like she has been reading my mind.

I wish I had a boat to sail out to sea And needle and thread to fix everything that’s wrong with me I’ll build myself a boat I’m gonna do it on my own, oh oh-oh I’ll take my little boat and sail the ocean deep And fix the haunted dreams that visit me in my sleep I’ll build myself a ship so I can weather any storm, oh oh-oh

“Sewing at Sea” – Karamelien

If I could listen to this album anywhere, I would rent a vacation home in the mountains. The house would have to have a sunken living room and a record player. Sunken living rooms have vibes and so does this album.

The ‘Living With The Moon’ album is out now and available from digital platforms, including Spotify, Apple Music and Bandcamp.
