The Dhoom series grew into a franchise with its ensemble cast, engaging storylines and endearing lead roles in the form of Abhishek Bachchan and Uday Chopra.  The hit series already has three films, with a fourth installment on the way.

While there is no official confirmation from any of the filmmakers, it is being speculated Akshay Kumar may join the fourth movie as the antagonist.  The previous 3 installments had John Abraham, Hrithik Roshan and Aamir Khan as the antagonists respectively.

The Bollywood industry has been rife with rumours for some time now that Salman Khan or Ranveer Singh may play the antagonist in Dhoom 4.  However, the latest rumour about Akshay Kumar playing the role is gaining a lot of traction on social media, with fans of the actor rejoicing the unofficial news.

Akshay Kumar already has multiple releases lined up this year—Sooryavanshi, Bachchan Pandey, Laxmmi Bomb, Prithviraj and Bell Bottom.  It will be interesting to see how this rumour pans out and should it be true, it will be another feather in Akshay Kumar’s cap.
