Sidharth Malhotra is a next generation Bollywood star who already has several hit movies under his belt.  He made his acting debut with Karan Johar’s Student Of The Year in 2012, which also marked the debut of Alia Bhatt and Varun Dhawan.  The movie went on to become the biggest grosser of that year. Sidharth Malhotra even won the Filmfare Award for Best Male Debut for this movie.

The actor, who turns 35 years old today, also starred in movies like Ek Villain and Kapoor & Sons, which were major box office successes.  On the occasion of his birthday, the actor took to his official Twitter handle to unveil the posters of his next film, Shershaah.

Shershaah is about one of India’s famous soldiers, Captain Vikram Batra, whose heroics in the Kargil War echoed across the entire Country.  His bravery in the face of insurmountable odds and how he conquered them and made the supreme sacrifice in the process, earned him India’s highest military honour, the Param Vir Chakra.  ‘Sher Shah,’ Captain Vikram Batra’s code name, was chosen as the name of the film. Sidharth Malhotra stars as Captain Vikram Batra in this movie produced by Dharma Productions.

This announcement came just a day after India celebrated its Army Day on 15th January.

Kiara Advani, who will star alongside Sidharth Malhotra as the lead actress, also took to Twitter to announce the movie and included birthday wishes for Sidharth Malhotra in her tweet.
