More Xbox Games Could Go To PS5 With The New Microsoft Latitude Project

With the new Microsoft Latitude project, Microsoft will reportedly try to bring more Xbox games to other platforms.

Microsoft has had a busy couple of weeks with the official launch of Sea of Thieves on PlayStation and the unfortunate closure of studios including Tango Gameworks, but another new report has come out from Windows Central that reveals more of what Microsoft has in store for Xbox games in the future. While the report goes over numerous issues that Microsoft could be facing in the immediate future, it has also revealed plans for Microsoft’s ‘Latitude’ project, which allegedly aims to bring Xbox games to other platforms, including the PlayStation 5.

With previous releases like Sea of Thieves launching for PS5, and Grounded launching for the Nintendo Switch, it’s pretty obvious Microsoft is seeking to get Xbox games on every platform, especially when Xbox President Sarah Bond said in February that “every screen is an Xbox“.

The Windows Central report says, “The plan to move Xbox games to other platforms is codenamed “Latitude” internally, and I know there’s debate and unease at Microsoft about whether or not this is a good idea” which goes further with “More upcoming Microsoft-owned games slated for PlayStation are already being developed. At least for now, they’re potentially obvious games you’d most likely expect.”

This new stance coincides directly with Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella’s negative stance on console exclusives, stating last June that he had “no love” for them. The report claims that Xbox is looking for “no red line” on what games could come to PlayStation and other consoles.

While no announcement has been made regarding more Xbox games on other platforms yet, fans can head to the Windows Central article to check out all of the information discussed.
