Bandai Namco hit fans with a one-two punch today, as they’ve released a new story trailer for Tekken 8 and announced a demo for the fighting game, which will be available today for console and PC.
The newest trailer for the upcoming fighting game, TEKKEN 8, is here, and it reveals the next page in the story of the Mishima and Kazama clans. As a bonus, a new demo for TEKKEN 8 is available to try out today as well, so fans of the King of the Iron Fist Tournament can start training tech today with the demo. The trailer for the new story can be seen below, and it involves some high stakes.
Recognized as the longest-running narrative storyline in video game history, TEKKEN 8 builds off of its predecessor and shows the ‘last hope of humanity’ Jin Kazama, unable to shift into his demon form. Series antagonist (after Heihachi’s fall) Kazuya, on the other hand, is getting more powerful and is seeking worthy opponents for the new King of the Iron Fist Tournament as the world of TEKKEN descends into chaos at the hands of his ruthless G Corporation.
Fans of TEKKEN 8 can also rest assured the game is still on a smooth track for its announced launch, and a demo will be available starting today for those who wish to get an early training session in before release. Aside from the first chapter of the story, the modes that will be available in the demo are:
- ARCADE QUEST – Chapter 1
- SUPER GHOST BATTLE – Will be unlocked after ARCADE QUEST chapter 1 is done
- VERSUS Mode – with Jin, Kazuya, Paul, and Nina as playable characters; available stages are Urban Square (Evening), Yakushima, and Sanctum
- GALLERY MODE – featuring highlighted cutscenes from TEKKEN to TEKKEN 7
While it is a small bummer that only four characters are playable for the demo, TEKKEN 8‘s official global launch is right around the corner on January 26, 2024. Fans who want more information can head over to the official TEKKEN website.
