Fortnite is no slouch when it comes to celebrating Holidays, and for this Halloween new combatants are boarding the Battle Bus to Battle Royale Island, get your horror themes queued.

In what Epic Games is calling Fortnitemares 2023, combatants will be delighted to know there is a huge Halloween celebration happening on Battle Royale island and everyone’s invited. To commemorate the occasion, Epic Games has also unleashed a spooky new trailer in honour of the Holiday and it can be viewed below.

There are new items to hunt for throughout the stage, including a new Wood Stake Shotgun to fight off night hordes. Thorne’s Vampiric Blade is available when a combatant dispatches the vampire menace and loots it from his undead corpse, and fans will have a new method of travel throughout the island: a Witch Broom. Unfortunately for the witches among us, the broom only ‘falls with style’ and has a gliding mechanic that doesn’t promote extended flights.

The Fortnite Battle Royale v26.30 Update also un-vaults some of the healing items that used to be scattered throughout the isle, such as candy corn and jelly beans, for the spirit of Halloween. Horde Rush also makes a grand return for the spooky season, as well as Halloween-themed rewards when fans complete activities during the season.

Last but not least, three new yet familiar faces make their grand entry into the Battle Royale. Fortnite welcomes Alan Wake before the release of Alan Wake II on October 27 and Jack Skellington in his Santa Outfit and his iconic pinstripe suit, complete with his spine-tight bowtie. Michael Myers is also stalking his way onto Battle Island straight from the Halloween film series of horror, although it is not known if his signature theme music will grace Fortnitemares 2023.
