The band is not only the people on the stage. The band is everyone in the room, bringing their own sounds - gestures - expressions - energy into the collective space. The Audience brings the energy that makes the performer play - something that cant always be seen, but can always be felt. Don't ever think that one is active and the other is passive. The audience is very much creating the performer.

There is a parallel here of the self, watching the Body - the audience as the self, and the performer as the body. one doesnt exist without the other. and when the self observes the body, the body does get transformed. when the audience observes the performer, the performer gets transformed. we become what you give us and you become what we give you. Let's not deny our interdependence.

We are aware of your every move, just like you are aware of ours. Your foot tapping, your eye contact, your smiles, give us energy to play like we can never play when we're alone. Even when you ignore us it's ok, because we can go back into ourselves and ignore you too. But we do play so much differently when you are with us :)
