Top 5 Overwatch 2 Coaches Of All Time:

Overwatch 2 has now been out for a while and a lot has changed since the transition from Overwatch 1. The scene is not more significant than the first edition of the game because you know a lot of competition has risen in the first-person genre since then But there is a positive side to it because Overwatch 2 goes Free to play it did open up a path to a lot of new players that got left behind in the first edition.

Overwatch is still racking up millions of players per month and the player count is stable so no dipping in player base and no hype tryouts either. Other than casual players the esports scene is also getting back on track and getting huge numbers in viewership and the scene is growing exponentially.

While everyone wants to see a SuperStar popping up in a match doing crazy stuff worthy of highlights montages the real superstars are behind their team guiding them toward victory and those superstars are team coaches that make strategies, point out player’s mistakes, and do work on that mistakes with the players But after Doing all of that they don’t get enough credit for their excellent job.

A Good Coach can make an average team champions. So In this blog, I’ll list down the top 5 Best Coaches Of all time in Overwatch 2 by their contribution to their respective organizations and their Trophy cabinet as a coach. The list will also be affected by Overwatch 1 accolades and achievements because Overwatch 2 is just a year old and is not different from Overwatch 1 mechanics-wise.

  • Moon Byung-Chul:

Moon Byung-Chul is a 34-year-old South Korean coach who is currently coaching Shanghai Dragons and goes by his lazy alias “Moon”. He is regarded as one of the biggest names in coaching overall esports. His team has won numerous tournaments thanks to his star-studded lineups and strategies. Starting in his initial career he coached Mighty Aod which didn’t go too well for him or his team either apart from the not-so-great experience He has provided coaching for multiple famous teams Los Angeles Valiant and Shanghai Dragons and has won quite a few tournaments with them.  In his days with Los Angeles Valiant, he collectively won over 400,000 Dollars in a tournament But his great days started after Joining the Shanghai Dragons after his joining the team won 11 s-tier tournaments worth more than 2.3 million dollars. Now you know what a coach can do to a team with the right players and good synergy. Apart from his team’s achievements he also won the Coach of the Year award in 2020.

2. Rush:

Another South Korean on the list is Yun Hee-won Who goes by the aliases of  “RUSH” and “Next”. He is a 37-year-old Overwatch Veteran who is currently coaching the team “Dallas Fuel” In Overwatch 2 his team is doing quite well but this wasn’t the case when he first started in the scene as a coach for Element Mystic. The team hadn’t won anything major since the first two years of the competition the biggest win they got between 2017 and 2019 was Overwatch Contenders 2019: The Gauntlet which was an A-Tier Tournament At best although they won multiple tournaments all of them were A or B Tier with low competition and prize money. The second transfer to the team “Paris Eternal” was also short-lived as he parted ways with them after just 4 months. The last transfer that he made was the one he had the most amount of influence and achievements he joined the team “Dallas Fuel” on October 23 2020 and since then the team has been putting up good results overall the team has won over 7 S-tier tournament in 2 years the biggest prize money the won was Overwatch League 2022 – Playoffs where they win a million dollars. He also won a Coach of the Year award in 2021.

3. Gunba:

Jordan Graham is a former Overwatch competitive player who lastly provided his coaching services to the team “Florida Mayhem”. Jordan Graham who is also known as “Gunba” is an Australian overwatch player and a coach. While he wasn’t the highest-level superstar in Overwatch 1 as a player because you know it is a team game and you can’t do anything on your plus he was a support player. but currently, he is regarded as the best coach in Overwatch 2.  He has coached some of the top tier 1 teams including the Los Angeles Valiant and Boston Uprising but the most amount of success he has found is with team Florida Mayhem. After his joining the team won 3 S-Tier Tournaments in 1 year but unfortunately, he parted ways with the team on this year’s October 20. He has also won a Coach of the Year award this year.

Overwatch 2 Coaching Services:

As I said earlier in the blog a coach can make an average team great and the same goes for a player if you have good aim and a decent game since then getting Overwatch 2 coaching might be the next best thing for you Because a coach can point out things that you as an individual can miss out or he can give you tip from his experience to help you out.

4. Face:

Another Australian on the list seems like a pattern but let’s move on to the 4th coach on the list. His real name is “Sam Merewether” he goes by the alias of “face” and he is currently providing his coaching for team Los Angeles Gladiators. Unlike the rest of the coaches on the list he didn’t jump from team to team rather he found his team quickly but unlike others, he doesn’t have a coach of the year trophy to his name. He has been coaching the Los Angeles side for over 3 years and in this span, the team has won 7 S-tier tournaments worth over 650,000 dollars.

5. Crusty:

For the last spot on the list, I’m going to pick Park Dae-hee also known as “Crusty” he is a South Korean overwatch player and coach who last coached San Francisco Shock but is currently a free agent. His accolades include 7 s-tier tournaments including Overwatch League 2020 Playoffs Grand Finals and Overwatch League 2019 and Overwatch League 2019 Playoffs. All in all, he is a great coach from Overwatch 1 and Overwatch 2.
